Jacksonville has long been a city with a deep connection to Drill Music, with different neighborhoods contributing to the movement. Among the voices emerging from the northwest side is A5 WIT DAT KUTTA, a rising artist from Grand Park, also known as 5 Block or “the Raq.” He is determined to make a name for himself while staying true to his roots and the realities of street life.
In A5 WIT DAT KUTTA’s view, his city has gained recognition for its drill scene, with various hoods bringing their unique sounds and stories to the music industry. However, beyond the music, his primary focus is on securing a better future for himself and his loved ones. His main goal is to provide for his family, take care of those closest to him, and uplift his brother so they can all achieve success together. For him, success means living a life free from worries, surrounded by wealth and stability.
One thing A5 WIT DAT KUTTA refuses to do is entertain those who fabricate their street experiences for clout. In his eyes, too many lives are being lost to the realities of the streets, making it unacceptable for individuals to rap about a lifestyle they have never truly lived. For him, authenticity is key—rapping about the streets without having the courage to live that life is, in his words, “not cool at all.” As he continues his journey, A5 WIT DAT KUTTA remains focused on his music and his mission, determined to rise above the noise while staying true to his experiences and principles.
