Emerging artist BAM21 has been steadily making a name for himself in the music scene, despite the challenges that come with pursuing a unique sound. Known for his innovative approach, BAM21 emphasizes authenticity and staying true to one’s own artistic vision. When discussing the obstacles he has faced, BAM21 shares, “Some challenges I’ve faced in my music career have been really just getting support from the city. I think it’s harder for me especially because I don’t have the sound that people are used to and I like to make some different music. But I would say nine times out of ten, when somebody just gives the music a chance and actually listens, they end up liking it in the end. So I really just kept pushing my sound or the 21AGENDA, that’s what I like to call it.”
BAM21 also opens up about his creative process, describing a typical day when he’s working on new projects. He states, “A typical day for me when I’m creating a new project is like a regular day for anybody else. I’m in school, go to class, and have fun with my friends just like everybody else. I just have to live life to have something to rap about. Like, I really have to go through certain experiences and see different places and do more things to create my projects because they really talk about what’s going on in my life.”
Even as an upcoming musician, BAM21 emphasizes the importance of authenticity in music. He shares, “Even though I am upcoming myself as a musician, a piece of advice I would give to another musician is to continue to be yourself and make the music that you like. It sounds better that way, regardless if some people don’t like it, because somebody will. At some point you’ll find your target audience, and that’s when you just give them what they want, and that’s your authentic creation.” Through his journey, BAM21 demonstrates the value of perseverance, creativity, and staying true to oneself in the face of challenges. His message is clear: success comes not just from following trends, but from embracing individuality and sharing it unapologetically with the world.
