From Nebraska to His Own Lane: Lil Burgo on Music, Motivation, and Staying True

Emerging from the Midwest, Lil Burgo represents a voice rooted in authenticity, resilience, and clarity of purpose. His journey reflects both pride in his broader home state and a firm stance on personal boundaries shaped by experience. Speaking candidly about his origins, ambitions, and vision for the music industry, Lil Burgo offers insight into what truly drives him as an artist. Reflecting on where he comes from, he shares, “I’m from Nebraska, out in the 308.” I am very clear about the distance I’ve kept from my hometown, explaining, “I will never claim my town because I have never received any support or respect from where I am from.” Because of that experience, Lil Burgo states, “I refuse to give that town any attention, as they hate.” Still, his appreciation for his state remains strong, as he acknowledges, “Nebraska as a whole, however, has always been good to him and truly has talented artists out there doing their thing.”

When it comes to his career, Lil Burgo’s priorities are grounded in passion rather than pressure. He shares, “My main goal in my music career is to never stop doing what I love, as long as I continue to love it.” From a financial standpoint, he states, “Financially, there has never been a goal with a ceiling.” What matters most to me is stability and collective well-being, emphasizing, “As long as I and my team are rocking out, fed, and have a roof over our heads, I am content.”

Looking beyond his own path, Lil Burgo also speaks on what he would change about the music industry if given the opportunity. He states, “If I had the power to change one thing in the music industry, I would make sure there is enough money to go around.” He goes on to explain his vision for a healthier culture, saying, “I would cut out the hate toward others who have a little motion and instead encourage networking and running up a bag through support and collaboration.”  In an industry often driven by competition and comparison, Lil Burgo’s words highlight a different approach—one centered on love for the craft, mutual respect, and collective growth. His perspective reflects not only his personal journey but also the values he believes can move the culture forward.
