Truly Drakø hails from South Atlanta, Georgia. Although Atlanta is home, his upbringing was far from stationary. Describing himself as a nomad since childhood, he moved frequently and experienced life across various parts of the city. His musical foundation was formed on both the North and South sides of Atlanta, immersed in the same environment that cultivated today’s major artists, including Migos, 21 Savage, Baby Drill, Mutebaby, and others.
For Truly Drakø, music is more than a pastime—it is a form of expression grounded in real-life experiences. “My goal in my career is to be heard,” he explains. “I don’t just make music for fun—every song comes from real life.” His purpose extends beyond personal success. His secondary goal is to generate income not only for himself but also to uplift others—particularly those who lack direction or resources. With a long-term vision, he aspires to build an independent music label from the ground up, offering structure and opportunity to emerging talent. While recognition matters to him, celebrity status holds little appeal. “Fame? I could care less. I just want my recognition for what I create,” he states. His focus remains on authenticity and creative integrity rather than external validation.
When asked about the changes he would like to see in the music industry, Truly Drakø expresses concern over the restrictive practices of major labels. He believes that many labels stifle creativity by confining artists to internal collaborations and discouraging exploration. “If I could change one thing in the music industry, I’d change how labels try to box you in—how they limit artists to only collaborate within the label and punish you for trying to experiment or grow. That part always felt off to me.” Truly Drakø represents a generation of artists who value originality, independence, and purposeful storytelling. With strong roots in Atlanta’s rich musical landscape and a clear vision for the future, he continues to carve out a space where his voice—and those of others—can truly be heard.
